Partners In Acoustics
A common denominator among many manufacturers in the industry is the need to provide quality acoustical products that meet the challenges of a growing market with changing priorities. Sometimes, in order to satisfy the unique requirements of a particular client, there is a need for more than one manufacturer to collaborate.
As an example, a client may select a particular product because of its design and performance but it may not be available from the manufacturer in the specific color, preferred by the architect. In this case, it is common to install the product in the standard white color and then re-coat it in-place with an acoustical coating, tinted exactly to the specified color.
Another point of interest is in evaluating the long-term value of a particular product investment. Within a given period of time, the product’s surface will likely discolor from age, become water-stained, and/or accumulate contamination in the air. When that time comes, an acoustical coating can be applied at a reasonable cost, to restore the finish and further enhance the lifetime of the product. This makes the initial investment in the product more justified.
ProCoat’s acoustical ceiling coating, ProCoustic, is the product most commonly used for these purposes because of its ability to maintain, if not improve, the acoustical properties. It is (in its standard white color) also a Class-A fire retardant material. Some of the collaborating manufacturers are shown below, with a brief description of their products, and a link to their websites for further information.
